Some places have Fairy Houses or Garden Gnomes...

We have a Mystery Ninja who leaves notes around our house!

Bubba said that he read up about the Mystery Ninja on facebook, and there were a few "faks" that were found out about the "Mistery Ninja": 1. I'm cool, 2. I'm Strong, 3. I use your materials.

I'll take my Mystery Ninja over your garden gnomes and Fairy Houses any day!!

The Force Awakens

Shayne has been counting down to when The Force Awakens would be released, and Collin really latched onto this. He was asking for days if he could go in Dad's car with him to get the Force Awakens and if the two could watch it together. The day that it was released (Tuesday), That's what Collin wanted to share with his preschool class: that he was going to go with Dad, in Dad's car, to get The Force Awakens and watch it. He even called Dad throughout the day to find out when he was coming home so they could go do what he wanted. Of course, Shayne is in HEAVEN having a child that LOVES Star Wars and wants to hang out with Daddy and do Star Wars things together...

Great Teachers!

We have come across some FANTASTIC teachers in our time, and Mrs. Carr is one of the greatest! She took time out on her Saturday to come and cheer Izzy and Olivia on at their games. What a wonderful teacher who goes above and beyond!!

April Fools!

The kids had their "Character Celebrations" on April Fool's Day, and we were bringing in popcorn, so we decided to hide some plastic bugs in the popcorn bags that they were taking. They said they were a big hit!

Bubba wanted to pull his own practical joke with a band aid to the forehead.

A New Look!

Bubba came home with a note from the school nurse that he needed to get his eyes tested. I don't put much stock in the school nurse's tests since Olivia completely failed one on purpose because she wanted to get glasses. But, when Bubba also failed the eye test at his well-check a week later, we decided it was time to go to the Optometrist. He was pretty excited for this whole experience.

We had to get his eyes dialated since one eye is a lot worse than the other. While we waited, he wanted to eat the biggest cinnamon roll we had ever seen.

Trying to find the perfect glasses...

We got some cool shades to protect his dialated eyes since we needed to go straight to a softball game.

It took about a week to get the glasses in, and Bubba is LOVING his new look! And he's also loving that he can see a bit better too!

The Force is strong with these ones...

Lightsaber battles ALWAYS include some force choking!

House Rules

Over the years we've gotten quite a collection of "House Rules" that legitimately had to be an enforced rule in our household. Here's just a few:

1. You cannot answer the door naked.
2. We don't stab people in this house.
3. No reading unless you have enough interaction minutes with the family.
4. If you "pants" somebody, you lose your pants for the day.
5. If you are going to eavesdrop on a  conversation, get the whole thing. You can't ask questions about a conversation you are eavesdropping on.

These are all very necessary rules to the success of our family that I NEVER thought we would have to have.

Boyhood Rites of Passage

I got a note on my door from our behind-neighbors that Friday night between 6:30-7pm rocks were coming from over our fence and hitting the side of their house, and one smacked and broke their window. When the kids got home, I asked Bubba what he and his friend Jessica were doing that night, and he said: throwing rocks over the fence.

So...We walked Bubba and Jessica over to the house to apologize to the owners (which was VERY traumatic), and Bubba has to give up all of his allowance for a month to go to the $220 it costs to replace the window!

Since this incident, Bubba has heard numerous stories from people about their window-breaking story, and has realized that this is a rite of passage that most little boys pass through at some point in their lives.

Easter Hunt

The Easter Bunny got a letter from Izzy asking if he'd come on Saturday instead of Sunday so that we could enjoy our Easter Celebrations and make it to church at 8am Sunday morning.

The Easter Bunny came through! We woke up early Saturday morning to Easter baskets overflowing with amazing stuff, and eggs all over the house!

I think everyone ended up hunting over 2 dozen eggs! The Easter Bunny never says how many eggs are hidden, each kid gets a colored egg in their basket and that's how they know which eggs to hunt for. It's always quite amusing as we sometimes find eggs around the house up to a week later!

Collin REALLY got into the hunt this year, he was PRETTY stoked to find all of his eggs!

You're In Trouble!

Everyone knows that when you are in trouble, mom uses more than just one name. Collin has had "Collin Henry" yelled a time or two. He's taken to using that tactic whenever he's frustrated or mad with one of us. There have been a few times when we'll hear: "Ya-Ya Henry", "Bubba Henry", "Izzy Henry", "Mommy Henry" and "Daddy Henry"

Girl Scout Movie Night

Olivia's troop got together to watch Jem and the Holograms. A fun Pizza and movie party!

Battles

Pokemon is a big part of our lives here, and Pokemon battles cover the floor from day to day.

Preschool Easter Party

Collin loves Preschool. He loves every activity we do, and can't wait until the preschoolers come each day. We had a fun Easter party with all the preschoolers. We made crafts, some delicious easter basket cupcakes, and had an easter egg hunt. It was a great day!!

Hatching An Egg

Almost every day Collin asks me if he can "hatch" an egg. A hard boiled egg. Then asks me to take out the yellow cheese because he doesn't like that part.

Hula Dancing

You never know what you'll learn at Activity Days. Hula anyone?

Birthday Cards

Living far away from family can be tough, and we like to try and stay connected with all our many extended family members, so the kids help make birthday cards to send out to everyone. This year we came up with a fun bubble gum machine card. We all had fun making it!

Rough Life

There are those days where even your nap wears you out.

Birthday Party Craziness

Our little man turned 7! It is crazy how fast the time is flying by. He wanted to have a birthday party at the local park with lots of friends and squirt guns. DONE! It was one of the easiest parties we've done, and he had a blast!!

Nothing better than friends and chocolate cake!

Happy Birthday Bubba!

Movie Night Pizza Party

For Bubba's birthday, he really wanted to have pizza and watch Goosebumps. We were a little worried that it would be too scary for Collin, but he seemed to figure it out.

This is how Collin covered his eyes during the scary parts. It saved him on more than one occasion.

This Year's Wrap Up

I love our family's blog books. I love capturing the moments and freezing them in time so we can look back and relive those fun memorie...
