We still have our tradition of the kids cooking dinner with me (once every two weeks). It was Collin's turn to cook with me and he chose to make French Bread Pizza. I got out the ingredients and went over to get Collin.
Me: Alright Collin, We're ready to cook.
Collin: What are we cooking?
Me: French Bread Pizza like you wanted.
Collin: I think you know how to make that one by yourself!

Weekly Outings
Shayne and I are trying out something new. We want to make sure that our kids get one-on-one time with each of us, and with a busy family, that can be hard to come by! So Monday Nights after all is said and done, we'll take turns taking each kid out for some chat time. Nothing spectacular, maybe running an errand together, or getting an ice cream cone, or doing some Pokemon GO hunting, nothing amazing, but one-on-one time. It was my turn with Izzy and we decided to get a Flight from Rita's. It was a fantastic hour! Here's to many, many more!!
Eye Exam?
In first grade, this girl failed the school eye exam on purpose so that she could get glasses. We took her to an optometrist, only to find out that her eye-sight is perfect...I could have wrung her little neck!
Fast forward to 7th grade. She said that she's getting a lot of headaches, and has a hard time seeing the board during class. She passed the eye test at the Pediatrician's office, but that one is pretty basic, so when I talked to an optometrist, he suggested that she get a full eye exam because there could be something else going on. We set an appointment. One fully-paid-for-since-we-don't-have-vision-insurance eye exam later, we found out that Olivia has PERFECT VISION!! Yep, no need for glasses! (This girl must REALLY want some glasses!) The doctor DID suggest a few things to help with the eye focusing and headaches:
Hahahahaha! Like that is going to happen!
He also said a small prescription, or some low level reading glasses might help with the headaches...
Notice that BYU shirt? That's Shayne's that she's claimed...Posession is 9/10 of the law right?
Go Cougs!
We happen to have some of the greatest friends around, and one of them happened to have extra tickets to the BYU vs. UofA at the season opener...so of course we bought those tickets and had a BLAST at the game! We tailgated with the Mikos' family before heading to the game and that was DELISH! We also found out that almost all the BYU grads that we knew around here were also at the game! There was so much energy and fun in the stadium
Look at how big the Cougar banner is compared to the Wildcats (theirs is the teeny tiny red one in the corner of the picture)
It was a pretty intense game but at the very end, the Cougars pulled through and won 18-16!!
Rise All Loyal Cougars!...
Packing has begun
Our house should be done in less than two months, that means I have to SERIOUSLY get into the packing game. Collin and I went to go pick up some boxes and scored the motherload! Here we come!!
Book of Mormon Challenge
Olivia's Young Women's Leaders had a challenge for the group, Read the Book of Mormon in 90 days. A daunting challenge...and she did it! Only 5 girls completed the challenge, and they rewarded them with a trip to the temple with a photo shoot, and dinner out at Cafe Rio. I can't believe that by age 12, Olivia has read the entire Book of Mormon 3 times! Once as a family, once completely on her own and now once as part of a challenge. That is NO EASY FEAT!
Rare Occurences
When you have 8am church, and Shayne has meetings at 6:30 so you have to get everyone up and ready on your own, getting to church on time and with smiles is next to IMPOSSIBLE! But we even had a couple minutes to spare and I had to show Daddy that IT CAN BE DONE!! so we send him a picture!
Bubbas Half Birthday
Who told this guy he could have another half birthday? Six months already? I can't believe it. Bubba is so full of life and spunk. He's a die hard Pokemon Lover and collects cards, battles, and loves Pokemon GO. He works hard at school, hates homework and spelling tests, and his favorite friends are: Adrien, Miriam, Matthew and Jessica.
Happiest of half birthdays to you Bubba!!
Girls Day Out
After Olivia had an outing with just her friends to the movies and shopping, Izzy was DYING to do the same. I told her that age 9 was too young to go out on their own, and she didn't have any money to go do those things. I told her that if she saved up her money, I would take her and some friends to the movies.
Well, she was DETERMINED to have a girls' day out, she worked really hard to earn her money to be able to go, and then worked it out with two friends and made plans for a day out!
The theatre decided to drop the movie we were going to see, but made up for it by giving us return passes, and we headed to the mall for the girls to blow all their money!
They did a little bit of EVERYTHING and spent every dollar they had... and had a BLAST doing it! I actually brought my own friend along (Beverlie) and we had a blast as well!
Quite the little shoppers!
They spent about 4 hours at the mall, and hopefully made a memory to last a lifetime!
NJHS Induction
Olivia was inducted into NJHS at Surprise, but since she's at a new school, she had to be inducted again at Marley Park.
They had quite the program, explaining the roots of National Junior Honor Society, what is expected of the students throughout the year, and all the service they'll be doing. Olivia is really excited!
I can't believe how quickly my little Munchkin is growing up!
Drywall has started!!
It is finally starting to look like a house! It is so exciting! Now if we could just get a close date...so exciting!!
Mormon Magnet
Olivia received this shirt at Girls' Camp this summer, and she wears it to school any chance she gets (pretty much whenever I wash it). She calls it her "Mormon Magnet". Whenever she wears the shirt, Mormons come out of the woodwork and compliment her on her shirt (knowing that that's a picture of the Phoenix Temple), and lots of other people ask her about her shirt which sparks lots of conversations about the temple and her religion. She has had so many missionary opportunities by simply wearing her "Mormon Magnet"! Hello Future Missionary!!
Workout Partner
My workout partner in the mornings likes to tell me when I'm doing "it" wrong. When I don't look the same as the girls exercising on TV. I told him which girl I was following (a modified one), and he told me that he follows the one in the middle (Autumn, who is running the workout). Turns out that Collin only works out when Autumn does, which actually isn't very much--because she's always walking around showing what everyone else is doing!! Hahahahaha! I'm totally following the wrong girl!
