Book Club Social Graces

I've been in a book club for most of this year and we read a fun book about the Gilded Age called Social Graces and our Book Club meeting was a fun themed tea party! Lindsey Anderson hosted and she did amazing! It was a really fun book and such a fun get together!

Rock Climbing

All the incoming freshman in the stake had a fun activity of rock climbing. Quinten had a blast!

First BIG job!

We got our first BIG JOB at Restoration 1! It was a flooded Life Science Lab out in Tempe. I was so nervous going, but Brandyn had it down and we got it cleaned up in about 4 hours and set equipment for the next week or so (they didn't want us to do any demo at first). Ended up being about $12,000 job which was awesome to get under our belts.

Chocolate Covered Honeycomb

Our family loves Chocolate Covered Honeycomb Candy from Sprouts, so I found a recipe and decided to try my hand. It turned out delicious. Not quite as good as Sprout's, but everyone ate it up super fast. We'll be making that recipe again for sure!

Snowflake Temple Trip

Our youth took an overnight trip to visit the Snowflake AZ temple. What a whirlwind trip!

Noah Kahan

These ladies got Noah Kahan tickets and were so excited to go see his concert together! Sounded like it was an awesome show! (and Izzy decided that they are getting married...)

Hairstyling Kit

Izzy got her hairstyling kit for the next two years! She brought it home to check everything out and label it all. SHE IS SO EXCITED!!

School Begins

These kids just WILL NOT STOP growing up! Each year I'm amazed at how grown they are and how quickly time flies...
Izzy is super excited for this year because of West-Mec. She has an awesome cohort that have fun together. She's made some great friends already. For school she's taking: Seminary, AP Lang, US History, Vocal Thunder Choir, Art, and Physics (independent study). She loves her art class and her hairstyling class, the rest...not so much.

Quinten is so excited for high school. He has a great group of friends and enjoys seminary and all his classes. He's trying a lot of new things this year which is awesome! He is taking: Hon Biology, Hon Geometry, Sign-Language, Voltage Showchoir, Art, Hon English. He has friends in all of his classes and enjoys most of his teachers.

Collin is in the "middle school" portion of Marley Park. He now has 4 teachers (Jonat, Whynott, Burt and Brady), rotates classes (which is great because he needs breaks from his teachers). He has a big group of friends that he loves hanging out with, he has PE as an elective every single quarter (which is the BEST!)

Collin with his homeroom teacher Mrs. Jonat

Our first day of school tradition: Yogurtini and all the talk about the day. It was a great day for everyone!

Learning the Ropes

Battery died in Olivia's car so Dad taught her how to jump a car and change a battery.

West-Mec Begins

West-Mec started a few days before school did and Izzy was so excited (and nervous). They have to wear a uniform each day with their specific scrub tops, scrub bottoms and all black tennis shoes. She is SO READY to learn about all things hair!

Star Wars Night

Lucky guys got to join the Bennetts for Star Wars night at the Diamondback's game!

Honeycomb Harvest

Shayne has been dying to do some honeycomb, so this spring we added some honeycomb frames to our hives and he was so excited to harvest!

Restoration 1 Doors Open

July 1 was our official Grand Opening for Restoration 1 of East Surprise. So much work has gone into getting us to this point. We hired two employees Keith and Brandyn (Keith didn't work out, but Brandyn has been great in helping us get started). It's been a slow start, but we're doing some trainings, getting things put together so we can know what we're doing on jobs and have things run smoothly.

Comicon

Shayne and Collin were super excited to go to Comicon again this year! The rest of the kids tagged along for a trip to San Diego (sadly I couldn't go because of work). They had a blast at the booths in Comicon, and the rest of the kids enjoyed the beach, the movies, shopping and just hanging around San Diego. One day Shayne and Collin were able to hang out at the beach and they all went out for ramen one night. It was a great last hurrah before the start of school.

Nursing School Acceptance

Olivia got accepted to the NURSING PROGRAM at BYU! There are only 60 seats per semester and she snagged one of them! Super excited for her to start her nursing classes in the fall!

Quinten FSY

Quinten had a GREAT week at FSY! He roomed with his buddy Harry (which they'll both be going to VVHS in the fall) and met some awesome friends!

This Year's Wrap Up

I love our family's blog books. I love capturing the moments and freezing them in time so we can look back and relive those fun memorie...
